The Arkansas School for the Deaf High School offers academic subjects to students grades nine through twelve. All basic courses necessary for graduation according to the requirements established by the Arkansas Department of Education are offered along with Vocational Technical Skills and Workplace Readiness. Our challenge is to help our students see a connection between what they do in the classroom and life beyond the classroom.

Individual programs are developed for each student to challenge ability levels and offer opportunity for real life experiences. We believe strongly in parents, school, and community working cooperatively. Excellence comes from striving to maintain the highest standards, looking after the smallest details, and going the extra mile. Other courses such as Physical Education, Driver Education, and Deaf Culture and Drama are offered to students at various times.

Recent additions of the Fairview Supplementary Reading Program, the STAR Reading and STAR Math programs have increased our student' reading and math levels, thereby preparing them for greater success at post-secondary institutions of their choice. Special Education/Functional Curriculum for Transition (FTC) classes are also available for student with special needs.

We also work closely with the local school districts for mainstreaming purposes in order to help our students reach their maximum educational potential. Our extra-curricular activities include Basketball, Football, Track, Swimming, Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Special Olympics. Some of our clubs are the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA); Family, Career, Community Leaders of America, Junior National Association of the Deaf (Jr. NAD); Student Council; and SkillsUSA/VICA.
