KaAnn Varner

KaAnn Varner is the new the Interim Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. KaAnn was a Lower School teacher here at ASD for three school years 1994-1998. KaAnn has since gone back to school and obtained a Master’s degree in administration.  KaAnn has since worked at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in different capacities as a teacher, supervising teacher, assistant principal, principal and superintendent. KaAnn was very active in state and local associations for the deaf and is a member of the National Association of the Deaf.

KaAnn loves working to ensure the educational and civil rights of deaf and hard of hearing are protected.  She is glad to be back home at ASD and looks forward to working with the great team of people at ASD. KaAnn is married to Tommy Varner, an ASD math teacher and the proud mom of Caleb Varner, a senior at Maumelle High School and Shannon Varner, a sophomore at ASD.
